Healthcare During Residency

Healthcare During Residency

Illness can strike any day and at any time so we have nurses available throughout the centre 24 hours a day.  Our nurses offer appointments and run specialist chronic disease management clinics, looking after patients with diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, hypertension, TB and blood borne viruses.
Patients who are in need of more intensive monitoring during illness are looked after by our highly skilled team in the six-bed in-patient area within the centre.

GPs are on site every day of the week and we have a highly qualified dental team who can attend to patients in our specialised dental suite.  Residents also have access to an optician and registered optometrist and all pregnant ladies receive the same antenatal care as they would in the community.  Local registered midwives regularly attend the centre, reviewing the care and needs of our pregnant residents and providing antenatal classes.

We have a counselling team available Monday to Friday to offer one-on-one support, group work, holistic therapies as well as a wide range of therapeutic services.  Our residents can access counselling services either through self-referral or through referral by another practitioner.
We have two multi-sensory snoozlem rooms in the centre that are available to any resident who feels they need some “time out”; a relaxing space with soft furnishings, textiles, low lighting, bubble light machines and calming aromas.
