Life at Yarl's Wood is always active. Staff and residents work hard to make a difference not only to their own lives but also to the lives of others; strangers they may never meet, strangers near and far.
We would like to take this opportunity to share with you some of the wonderful initiatives that have been run by staff and residents at Yarl’s Wood. Initiatives similar only in that they are designed to make a difference.

An independent report published today into the culture and practices at Yarl’s Wood Immigration Removal Centre (‘Yarl’s Wood’) has found there is not an endemic culture of abuse nor a hidden problem of inappropriate behaviour by staff at the centre.

A Children In Need event was held on the 20th November within the Centre. Lots of fun was had by all, with various games and activities commencing throughout the day.

WIN is a complete programme for residents that will encompass all aspects of fitness, nutrition and health. Individuals can self-refer or be referred by a member of staff. They will be assessed by the Counselling team to find out which route into WIN they wish to take.

HIS Church charity raised for the month of September a staggering ££2263.50 that will be used to support their charitable activities such as helping people in desperate need in the UK and elsewhere in the world.

On 5 June 2012 staff and residents came together at Yarl’s Wood IRC to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee. After lengthy planning and preparation by Activities team members Amy and Evonne the Sports Hall was transformed into the best Street Party in Town.
