Race For Life

On Friday 27 May 2011 staff and residents joined together at Yarl’s Wood IRC to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

For one day only internal gates were opened to allow the 5K Race for Life to take place around the Centre.  Staff dressed in a variety of costumes from Clowns to Sumo Wrestlers! Residents had worked hard to design pink T Shirts in Arts and Crafts sessions to wear on the day.

Thanks to Amy and Carolyne for arranging this worthwhile event. All participants received a medal for completing the challenge, and were supported by cheers and words of encouragement from staff and spectating residents.

The total raised from sponsorship was £607.63
